Application area

For bonding silver mirrors according to EN 1036 DIN 1238 (for other mirrors, we recommend checking whether the adhesive attacks the mirror coating), mirrors to walls or doors and mirrored walls in shops. Adheres to surfaces such as load-bearing plaster and concrete, wood, gypsum plasterboard, particle boards and Styrofoam.

For bonding plastic mirrors (PMMA plastic mirrors)

  • ICI Perspex: Bronze, silver, gold

  • Rohm and Haas: Bronze, gold

  • Plexiglas XT: Colourless

  • Altulor plastic mirrors

  • Mounting PMMA mirrors up to 600 x 600 mm in size with the mirror adhesive can be recommended.
Instructions

Surface:

  • Walls or ceilings must be clean, dry and free from dust and grease

  • Remove loose coats of paint or debris

  • The mirror must not be adhered to a wet or damp surface.

Joining:

Mount the mirror within 5 to 10 minutes after applying the adhesive and press on firmly.

Securing:

  • Mirrors with a thickness of 2 mm and 4 mm can easily be fixed to vertical walls using just the mirror adhesive. Apply the mirror adhesive in vertical lines. Bead thickness between 6 mm and 8 mm. The distance between the lines should be 10 cm.

  • Large, vertical mirrors (thickness of 6–8 mm) and mirrors on angled walls or ceilings must also be secured mechanically.

Fixing in place:

Fix large mirrors in place for approx. 12 hours.

Back ventilation:

The back of the mirror must be back-ventilated so that the adhesive can cross-link.
